ECOROLL – We optimise your surfaces

ECOROLL tools precisely adjust the surface properties of your component. Surfaces become smooth, components achieve greater strength through compressive residual stresses, and service life can be extended.

As technology and global market leader, ECOROLL offers the right tools for your component for roller burnishing, deep rolling and the machining of cylindrical tubes.

Residual stresses - Hocus-Pocus or real value?

Residual stresses are an often underestimated property of your components that determines their service life. For example, the presence of a specific residual stress state can significantly increase the allowable number of load cycles for components subjected to alternating loads or shift the allowable load amplitude to much wider ranges. On the other hand, unfavorable residual stress states can cause a component to fail after an unexpectedly short period of service. Therefore, it is always worthwhile to address the topic of residual stresses.

In this webinar, Dr.-Ing. Oliver Maiß answers the following questions, among others:

  • What exactly are residual stresses?
  • How do residual stresses affect component strength?
  • How can I introduce residual stresses safely and efficiently?
