	OMEGA - Skiving and Roller Burnishing Tools Development, Testing and Product Launch ECOROLL developed the new OMEGA system to prevent or decrease form irregularities and rippling in the manufacture of cylindrical tubes and hydraulic cylinders. ECOROLL has achieved this goal and more: the OMEGA system, patented domestically and internationally, also reduces the time required for both primary and auxiliary processing. 	Applications of Deep Rolling Deep rolling is a versatile and very economical process to increase fatigue strength of dynamically loaded components. It is also suitable to reduce or eliminate stresses corrosion cracking. It needs only a one-pass rolling operation which in most cases can be completed in one setting after machining. One reason for the high efficiency of the process is the unique combination of three physical effects. These are implementation of residual compressive stresses, local strength increase and elimination of machining marks by burnishing. Benefits are described and application examples on automotive, aviation, railroad and general engineering components are explained. The most practical process evaluation and parameter optimization is laid out.
