Stretch bolts

Such components are often used in the aircraft industry on extremely loaded joints, for instance to fix the engines to the wings.
They are characterized by a stretch neck which reduces the stress concentration on the thread but a high load concentration
is found on the neck itself. Deep rolling with a hydrostatic "ballpoint" tool HG6 increases fatigue strength sufficiently.
There is one interesting fact on this application: In spite (or due to?) a very high safety requirements in the aircraft
industry, the process was approved within a few weeks only. This allows presume that the fatigue life improvement must
have been very significant.

Rotor blade adjustment for helicopters

This device comprises many cyclic loaded components which all are important for flight safety. These
components are deep rolled with various ECOROLL tools being individually adapted to the critical details of each part.
Following parts are treated:

-

The bore of a control cylinder
|
-
|
Thread root of a hub
